Ravens kicker Tyler Loop works on rebound after missed field goal

Baltimore Ravens kicker Tyler Loop said he has accepted his missed 44-yard field goal from last season and is focused on preparation for the upcoming year. The miss occurred in a 26-24 loss at Pittsburgh that eliminated the Ravens from the playoffs. Loop spoke publicly for the first time about the kick during minicamp in Owings Mills, Maryland.

Minicamp practice During a minicamp practice, coach Jesse Minter offered to cancel post-practice meetings if Loop made a 40-yard field goal. Loop made the kick and said afterward that the motion felt consistent with his usual process. Loop said acknowledging the earlier miss took one or two days and that moving past it was straightforward because he needed to prepare for the next opportunity.

Team outlook The Ravens drafted Loop in the sixth round last year.

He finished the 2025 season with the highest field-goal percentage among rookie kickers who attempted at least 10 field goals. Coach Jesse Minter said the team feels good about Loop's position and that ongoing evaluations occur at every spot on the roster.

He noted that training camp and the September start of the season provide time to address any questions. Loop was the only kicker on the roster this spring. He made 30 of 34 field goals in 2025 but was 1 of 4 from beyond 50 yards.
