Receiver Joins Patriots After Trade From Eagles

A wide receiver who grew up as a New England Patriots fan joined the team Tuesday for voluntary organized team activities after completing a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles. The player participated in drills at the team's facility in Foxborough, Massachusetts, one day after the transaction became official.

The Eagles received a 2028 first-round draft pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick in exchange.

The head coach stated that details of the player's departure from Philadelphia should not affect the locker room. The coach added that the focus remains on integrating the player into the team's system. m. ET on June 1 that the deal was complete. The coach described the player as a strong competitor and teammate.

The offensive coordinator noted the player's physical style of play and compared it to that of a former tight end. A wide receivers coach who has known the player since 2019 said the prior relationship helps in coaching demands while maintaining trust.

The player said in a video interview posted June 2 that he and a former teammate "are not as close as we once were" but added there is "no bad blood." He stated that the two "still competed" and "led the team" despite growing apart over the past couple of years. The player also said he did not understand why the change in their relationship drew public attention.
