REI’s annual Anniversary Sale began this week and continues through May 25, offering discounts on camping, hiking, and outdoor equipment. The retailer is cutting prices on tents, sleeping bags, stoves, headlamps, and portable electronics. Shoppers can also find reduced prices on smartwatches and safety devices.
Smartwatches and fitness trackers The Garmin Fenix 8 is listed at $750 at Amazon for the 43 mm model, down from $1,000. The watch includes a speaker, microphone, dual-frequency GPS, and extended battery life. REI and other retailers are selling the Garmin Venu 4 for $499.99, a $50 reduction that matches its lowest price to date.
The device tracks heart rate, sleep, and offers new wellness features including caffeine and alcohol intake monitoring. The Garmin Lily 2 Active is available for $249.99 at REI, Amazon, and Best Buy, also $50 off its regular price. The smaller watch adds built-in GPS and expanded sports tracking.
Communication and safety gear Garmin’s InReach Mini 3 is priced at $399.99 at REI, Amazon, and Garmin, a $100 discount. The satellite communicator sends texts, shares location, and triggers SOS alerts. The InReach Mini 3 Plus, which adds an audible siren and photo messaging, is on sale for $450. The InReach Messenger Plus is listed at $299.99, also $100 off.
Cooking equipment The MSR PocketRocket 2 stove is available for $45 at REI, down from $60. The single-burner unit boils water in about three and a half minutes. LifeStraw’s Peak Series Straw is selling for $19 at Amazon and REI, a $6 reduction. The filter removes viruses, bacteria, and microplastics.
JetBoil’s MiniMo cooking system is marked down to $108 at REI, a 40 percent discount from $180. The system includes a one-liter pot and heats water in two minutes.
Shelter, sleep, and furniture REI’s Half Dome 2 Tent with footprint is priced at $247, down from $329. The three-season tent accommodates two people and includes gear pockets. The Exped MegaMat Duo is listed at $300 for the medium size at REI, a $100 reduction.
