Republican Primary Results Show Endorsed Candidates Winning All 37 Races
Endorsed candidates won every primary contest held Tuesday. Earlier contests in Indiana and Louisiana produced similar outcomes for endorsed candidates.
westernjournal.comEndorsed candidates won all 37 Republican primary races held across the country on Tuesday. No endorsed candidate lost. Earlier this month, endorsed candidates defeated a majority of incumbent state senators in Indiana who had opposed redistricting proposals. Last weekend, an incumbent senator in Louisiana finished third in that state's primary.
Approval for the party's direction among Republican voters stands at approximately 81 percent. That figure is lower than the previous year but higher than second-term readings recorded for prior administrations.
A New York Times/Siena College poll found differences by age on questions about future party direction. Sixty percent of Republicans aged 18 to 44 said they want a new course beginning in 2028, while 33 percent preferred continuation of current policy.
Seventy percent of younger Republicans favored a change in approach toward relations with Israel. Fifty-six percent said they want a different policy on Iran. The poll results come during a midterm election year in which turnout patterns among different age groups may affect outcomes.
