Russia Reports Drone Strike on Occupied Town Dormitory

Russian authorities said an overnight drone strike hit a student dormitory in the town of Starobilsk in the Luhansk region. Sixteen people were killed and 42 others injured, with five more reported missing under rubble, according to Russia's emergencies ministry.

Russian officials stated the attack involved three waves of 16 drones. They said no military facilities were located near the building and ordered the military to prepare retaliation proposals.

Ukraine's military said it struck the headquarters of Russia's Rubicon drone unit in Starobilsk. It accused the unit of regularly striking civilian targets and said its own operations followed international humanitarian law. Russian state media broadcast images of one injured student identified as a 19-year-old woman with head injuries from falling concrete.

Saturday, Russian officials reported two people injured after drone debris caused a fire at an oil depot in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. Several buildings caught fire and fragments landed on a fuel terminal. Drones also damaged private homes in the nearby port city of Anapa, officials said. No deaths were reported in those incidents.
