Scott Coker is preparing to launch a new, still-unnamed MMA promotion in 2027 that will stage 12 events in its first year and feature one annual tournament alongside traditional matchmaking. Coker spoke on The Ariel Helwani Show and said the promotion will not rely solely on tournaments. “We’re not gonna be a tournament-only organization,” he said.

“We’re gonna put on great super fights. ” The comments follow earlier statements in which Coker indicated tournaments would play a significant role. Early plans call for a World Grand Prix-style competition with a large field of fighters competing for a substantial prize.

The organization will combine that structure with conventional matchmaking. This week the promotion announced several executive hires. Kevin Kay, a former Spike TV and Paramount executive, was named Chief Content Officer.

Rich Chou, a veteran MMA executive, was appointed Executive Vice President of Athlete Relations. Tom Fox, a sports business veteran, was named Chief Operating Officer. Scott Coker is listed as Co-Founder and CEO.

Peter Levin is Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board. Paolo Boccotti is Executive VP, European Production. The promotion has secured $60 million in initial financing through a group led by Creator Sports Capital.

Coker said the company plans to expand its footprint globally. The promotion’s name, broadcast partners, and roster have not yet been announced. Coker previously built Strikeforce and Bellator, which held occasional Grand Prix events during his tenure.
