The Seattle Seahawks hired Brian Fleury to replace Klint Kubiak as offensive coordinator. ESPN reported the move on June 3, 2026, one day after Kubiak was named head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. Fleury spent the past seven seasons as an assistant with the San Francisco 49ers, most recently as tight ends coach and run game coordinator in 2025.

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald interviewed four in-house candidates before selecting Fleury. The new coordinator will call plays for the first time in his career. Under Fleury, the Seahawks will run a version of coach Kyle Shanahan's offense.

Darnold said the scheme will be similar to the one used last season under Kubiak, another Shanahan disciple. "It's a lot of the same stuff [with] Fleury obviously coming from San Francisco, but a couple different wrinkles here and there," Darnold said. Darnold spoke to local reporters for the first time since the Seahawks won Super Bowl LX on Feb.

2026. He has now played for seven offensive coordinators in six seasons. "Thankfully it hasn't been too much of a transition," he said after an OTA practice. Darnold's prior coordinators include Adam Gase and Dowell Loggains with the New York Jets, Joe Brady, Jeff Nixon and Ben McAdoo with the Carolina Panthers, Wes Phillips with the Minnesota Vikings, and Kubiak with Seattle.

He backed up Brock Purdy with the 49ers in 2023 and earned Pro Bowl honors in 2024 and 2025. Darnold said the continuity helps the entire offense. "Minnesota [then] coming here was back to the Shanahan kind of verbiage with Klint.

And then this year it's more of the same," he said. " Fleury described the offense at his introductory news conference. "It looks very similar to the one that just won the Super Bowl," he said. Darnold praised Fleury's command of the system.

"Fleury has been great," Darnold said. " Darnold has been at Seahawks headquarters for five weeks in the voluntary offseason program. He said Fleury shares a similar demeanor with Kubiak. "He's really stoic," Darnold said.
