Snickers Offers Year Supply of Peanut Butter Bars to People Named Reese
Mars is running a promotion that lets Americans named Reese or similar spellings enter for a chance to win a year's supply of Snickers Peanut Butter candy bars. Participants must sign an online pledge by June 11.
Substrate placeholder — needs reviewMars announced a promotion on May 28 that gives people named Reese, Reece, Rhys or other spelling variations a chance to win a year's supply of Snickers Peanut Butter bars. The company is asking eligible participants to sign an online "Snickers Peanut Butter pledge" through June 11. The first 100 people who sign will receive special rewards, and 25 winners will be chosen at random.
Snickers assembled a focus group of people named Reese and hired comedian Eric Andre to direct reaction videos of them tasting the candy for the first time. The company said 71 percent of those surveyed consider texture a non-negotiable part of the eating experience.
Butter contains creamy peanut butter, crunchy peanuts, caramel and nougat inside milk chocolate. 50 to $6. Martin Terwilliger, vice president of marketing for Mars Wrigley North America, said the company wanted to show consumers they do not have to choose between creamy and crunchy peanut butter.
"We're so confident in our product that we put it to the test," Terwilliger said. "The verdict is in, and it's clear nothing else satisfies quite like it.
