Chartered flights carried Ghanaians from South Africa to Ghana over the weekend. In the Western Cape, three buses left Kleinmond on Friday and two departed Gansbaai carrying undocumented foreign nationals to the Lindela Repatriation Centre. A bus organized by the Mozambican Embassy collected Mozambican citizens from Hermanus.
Thirty-eight people displaced by the protests remained at a municipal farm in Hermanus. Municipal facilities in the Overstrand area will stay closed to new arrivals ahead of the voters' registration weekend.
