Sulvinder Samra Describes Divorce From Dr Ranj Singh on Former Anniversary
Sulvinder Samra posted on Instagram about her 2011 divorce from Dr Ranj Singh. She wrote about the period after learning he wanted to end the marriage to pursue relationships with men.
inquisitr.comSulvinder Samra posted a message on Instagram on Thursday describing the end of her marriage to Dr Ranj Singh. The post appeared on the date that would have marked their 20th wedding anniversary. Ms Samra, a former pharmacist, wrote that she learned her husband wanted to end the marriage after seven years.
She stated that the revelation replaced the life she had planned with what she called heartbreak.
The couple married in 2005 in a traditional Sikh ceremony. Dr Ranj Singh told her he was gay two years before the divorce was finalized in 2011. Ms Samra wrote that she questioned herself after the marriage ended and felt she was not good enough. She added that she felt dead inside while appearing to cope.
She said the experience affected later relationships because she found it difficult to trust others or herself. She also wrote that she accepted she would not have children and would only be an aunt.
Samra described her upbringing as one with expectations around education, career, and marriage. After the divorce she returned to her family home in Nottinghamshire and continued working as a pharmacist. At age 45 she left pharmacy and retrained as a nervous system coach.
She later shifted focus when her sister was diagnosed with aggressive cancer. Dr Ranj Singh, now 46, discussed the marriage in an interview with The Big Issue this week. He said therapy helped him realize he was not living authentically and later confirmed a relationship with actor James Colebrook on Instagram in 2025.
