A professional football team is signing UFL defensive back Ameer Speed, James Larsen of PFN reports. Speed worked out for the team this week. He played for the Houston Gamblers, joining the team midway through the season.
Speed recorded five pass breakups and 14 tackles in five games. In 2025, he appeared in two games for another NFL team and totaled two tackles. Speed, 26, entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick of a team in 2023.
He has had stints with multiple other NFL teams. In 17 career games, Speed has recorded 11 tackles.
