He added that the United States is winning the AI race. “If we’re smart, we’re going to win it. If we’re not smart, we’re not. But we’re leading by a lot,” Trump said. He noted the discussion occurred Thursday night during his visit to China. Trump said the Chinese leader was very surprised at how well the U.S. has done with AI.
He said the Chinese side had thought they took a gigantic lead when the technology started but that the U.S. is now substantially ahead.
The statements were made as part of Trump's visit to China.
During the trip, Trump also addressed potential Taiwan arms sales and said he would decide on the matter soon. Officials in China promised to send a gift for the White House.
