Trump Says He Will Release Iran Deal Text and Read It Aloud
President Trump announced he will release the full text of a U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding and read it word by word at a press conference. The release is expected after the deal is formally signed in Switzerland.
nypost.comPresident Trump said Tuesday he will release the text of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran and read it aloud at a press conference. Speaking to reporters at the G7 meetings in France, Trump stated that the document provides Iran will never have a nuclear weapon. He added that he will probably hold the press conference and read the text word by word.
Trump said the release will occur in a formal setting.
He did not specify a date. The president previously said the text will be made public after the deal is formally sealed on Friday in Switzerland and reiterated on the sidelines of the G7 that he would like to get a formal signature first. “I’ll go over the document with the media in a couple of days,” he added.
Review called for the text to be released to resolve conflicting claims about the agreement. No further details on its contents or timeline for finalization were provided.
