President Trump posted on social media Monday that his proposed agreement with Iran would be the "exact opposite" of the 2015 nuclear deal negotiated under former President Barack Obama.

" Baghaei added that "no one" can say a final deal is imminent and that Tehran has seen "frequent changes in positions" from the U.S. side. Baghaei said a draft agreement includes a ceasefire covering all fronts, including Lebanon, but that details on managing the Strait of Hormuz remain undecided.

He stated no Iranian delegation visit to Pakistan is planned at this time.

Rubio said Sunday that the deal remains a "work in progress" but expressed confidence that shipping through the Strait of Hormuz can be addressed. Rubio said the U.S. delegation is handling Lebanon separately and that the core problem there is Hezbollah.

A senior administration official said Sunday the two sides are working on a two-step interim agreement under which Iran would commit to negotiate removal of its enriched uranium stockpile in exchange for an immediate end to the U.S. naval blockade and opening of the strait.

The official noted that even if language is agreed, it would take days to receive approval through Iran's system.
