In an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Trump said he does not love China owning farmland near military bases but warned that removing Chinese buyers would lower farm and land prices. "You want to see farm prices drop? You want to see farmers lose a lot of money?

Just take that out of the market," Trump said. U.S. universities rely on the roughly 500,000 Chinese students paying full tuition. "If you want to see a university system die, take a half-a-million people out of it," Trump said.

American ranchers at Meriwether Farms posted on X that hostile foreign nations should not be allowed to purchase American farmland. "So let us get this straight," the farm said in a separate post. " CCP refugee and anti-CCP activist Lily Tang Williams said Americans cannot buy a condo in China and therefore should not allow Chinese nationals to buy land in the United States.

Korean-American commentator Kangmin Lee wrote that the 500,000 university spots should go to American students first.
