cnet.comTrumpRx, a government website for prescription-drug discounts that carries President Trump's name, lists 92 brand-name drugs from 15 of the 17 companies that signed agreements with the administration as of mid-July. Npr reported that these 92 drugs represent fewer than 12 percent of the more than 800 brand-name drugs marketed by the participating companies.
The site launched on February 5 with 43 drugs from five companies.
Pfizer lists the largest number at 30 drugs, though the company markets at least 178 brand-name drugs and does not offer Eliquis, Ibrance or Paxlovid on the platform. Pfizer offers Xeljanz on TrumpRx for $1,518, a discount of up to 53 percent. Gilead and Regeneron have announced deals but currently list zero drugs.
The companies stated they plan to add Epclusa and Praluent respectively, though timing remains undetermined. In May the site added hundreds of generic drugs from partners including Cost Plus Drugs and Amazon Pharmacy, creating separate tabs for presidential deals on brand-name medicines and standard prices for generics.
Npr analysis found that some presidential-deal drugs have generic competition.
Januvia and Janumet from Merck appear as presidential deals, and Janumet lists at $84.57 compared with $142.31 for the same strength and quantity on Cost Plus Drugs. Pristiq from Pfizer lists at $200.10 while its generic is available for $20 to $30 with a GoodRx coupon.
The TrumpRx website states it has saved more than $400 million for Americans, though that figure has not been updated in more than a month.
President Trump said during the February 5 launch event at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building that the site represented the biggest development in healthcare in many decades. All 17 companies that received May 2025 letters have now announced agreements, the last being Regeneron in April.
Pfizer spokesperson Kat Romaniuk stated the company is offering savings as high as 85 percent on more than 30 medicines and will continue assessments.
Ronna Hauser of the National Community Pharmacists Association stated most patients mentioning TrumpRx seek discounts on GLP-1 therapies. GoodRx told investors in May it is seeing encouraging traction with strong demand concentrated in GLP-1 therapies.
