Uber Launches Hotel Bookings on App Through Expedia Partnership

Uber announced on April 29, 2026, that users will soon be able to book hotels through its app, partnering with Expedia Group to offer more than 700,000 hotel listings directly on the platform. While traveling, Uber app users will receive reminders to schedule Uber rides and see options for Uber Eats room service that can deliver food and forgotten items such as a toothbrush or phone charger directly to the hotel.

Uber stated that the goal of these upgrades is to reduce the number of steps for travel for its users.

"Uber is now an app for everything," Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said during the company’s product announcement. " Later in 2026, Uber customers will be able to book any vacation rental available on Vrbo via the Uber app through a partnership between Uber and Vrbo. 99 a month, had 46 million members at the end of 2025, an increase of 55% compared with the year prior to 2025.

Uber One provides credits that users rack up when hailing rides, renting cars, or ordering on Uber Eats.

The new hotel offerings will provide 10% back in Uber credits and 20% discounts on the hotel bookings themselves.

"That cash back they can then use on rides as well as eats, so that’s going to be significant savings," Uber’s chief product officer Sachin Kansal said. Uber announced on April 29, 2026, that it is consolidating its search function into a single location on the app. Uber also announced that it will soon bring voice features to the app.

"Your interaction with Uber should be multimodal. If you want to tap, you want to type, you want to search, or you want to use your voice, you should use what is the easiest for you in that moment," Uber’s chief product officer Sachin Kansal said. The announcement follows a series of expansions, including Uber's unveiling earlier in 2026 of a new robotaxi to compete with Waymo, its acquisition of parking platform SpotHero for in-app parking reservations, and the launch of Uber Air through a partnership with Joby Aviation for all-electric air taxi service.
