USC defeated Texas A&M 7-1 on Monday night at Blue Bell Park in College Station to win the College Station Regional. The Trojans scored 55 runs over four elimination games after losing their opening game and finished the regional with 59 runs and 72 hits in five games. Augie Lopez hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning that extended USC’s lead to 5-1.

USC improved to 47-16. The program has produced a record 12 national championships under coaches Rod Dedeaux and Mike Gillespie. Andy Stankiewicz is in his fourth season as USC coach. The team has not appeared in the College World Series since 2001.
