M. tip-off. President Donald Trump is expected to attend the game. The New York Post first reported earlier this week that Trump planned to attend, and he confirmed his attendance to reporters on Thursday.

It will be the first time a sitting president attends an NBA Finals game. The Knicks hold a 2-0 series lead over the Spurs and are seeking their first NBA championship since 1973 in their first home Finals game in 27 years. Jalen Brunson and the Knicks look to clinch the title on home court.

The Knicks announced a strict no-bag policy for Game 3 along with TSA-style screening procedures. Fans are told to limit personal items to an absolute minimum and to arrive at least two hours before tip-off to allow time for screening and entry. The team also recommended that fans consult the Secret Service website for a list of prohibited items.

Madison Square Garden normally permits bags no larger than 22 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches that fit under a seat. Trump told reporters on Thursday: “They find a way to do it. They’re really great, a great team.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver said he is excited for Trump’s attendance. “We’re seeing that in New York, and I think President Trump is very much a New Yorker, and I’m thrilled that yet another New Yorker wants to participate in the enthusiasm and the joy around this Knick team,” Silver said.
