-Israel military campaign against Iran that began February 28 reached its 100th day on June 7 with a fragile ceasefire in place but no reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. personnel.

Com figures cited by Newsweek. Israeli forces have advanced past the Litani River and now control roughly 2,000 square kilometers, or one-fifth of Lebanon. Evacuation orders extend to the Zahrani River, six miles farther north.

The Lebanese Health Ministry reports 3,500 killed and 10,600 injured since March 2, when Hezbollah began firing rockets into northern Israel. The country's finance ministry estimates at least $3 billion in property damage. Brent crude rose from about $70 per barrel before the war to peaks near $120 and now trades around $100.

The International Energy Agency called the supply disruption the largest energy shock on record. Ship-tracking data show only 607 transits through the Strait of Hormuz between February 28 and May 31, down from roughly 100 per day before the conflict.

U.S. Blockade of Iranian ports imposed April 13 has further restricted traffic. A separate Lebanon ceasefire took effect April 17. On June 3 the United States, Israel, and Lebanon issued a joint call for Hezbollah to halt attacks and withdraw south of the Litani River.

The Institute for the Study of War reported June 4 that Hezbollah and Iranian leaders continue to reject any framework short of full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon. Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said Friday that inspector access in Iran remains limited.

Iranian cleric Mohammad-Mehdi Hosseini Hamedani stated the same day that uranium enrichment cannot be negotiated away.
