SemaforRussia launched an aerial barrage on Ukraine on June 2, 2026, firing more than 700 drones and missiles across the country. Nine people were killed and dozens wounded in the strikes, which included deadly attacks on Kyiv. Moscow had warned last week that it intended to launch systematic strikes on targets in Kyiv and urged foreign nationals to leave Ukraine.
The barrage came after Russia fired more than 1,500 drones and missiles over two days in May 2026. Russia's territorial gains in Ukraine are slowing or reversing. The EU is readying new sanctions on Russia.
